麻豆社 students earn awards at annual ASCE event

LEXINGTON, Ky. 鈥 Eighteen students from 麻豆社鈥檚 chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) participated in the annual Indiana-Kentucky ASCE Student Symposium and brought home several awards.

The event, held April 9-11, was hosted by the University of Kentucky.

During the symposium, students get to display their work in teams for projects including planning, design and construction. They also gave technical presentations for several projects.

 A 麻豆社 team won first place in the Mystery Design competition. Annalise O鈥橠aniel, a 麻豆社 civil engineering major from Indianapolis, was honored as Best Speaker.

The entire 麻豆社 group earned second place in civil engineering trivia, and 麻豆社 teams took second in 3D printing, concrete cornhole and site development.

麻豆社鈥檚 concrete canoe team finished third.

鈥淲e all loved it! Great weather, venue and location,鈥 said Tim Tyler, Ph.D., one of two 麻豆社 faculty who traveled with the students to the event. 鈥淧lus, the students performed so well.鈥

 Next year鈥檚 event will be hosted by the University of Evansville.
