ΒιΆΉΙηβs Annual βBeach Bashβ Cookout a Smash Success
By: Mycah Houser
ΒιΆΉΙη held its annual βBeach Bashβ cookout and recreation event. This yearβs Beach Bash was planned by new Student Events Coordinator Evan Gustin. Students were excited by the wide range of activities such as volleyball, kanjam, spikeball, and a giant inflatable slip nβ slide.
The main course was a giant hog roast, supplemented by themed food such as barbecue chicken, pulled pork, and steamed vegetables. Students could also help themselves to a make-your-own salsa and guacamole station, as well as an a-la-mode dessert that included pineapple upside down cake.
One of the biggest additions to the Beach Bash was a giant inflatable slip nβ slide. Seniors Claire Barnett and Allison Thompson took particular delight in this addition. βThe slip nβ slide was wild! Claire and I were the first ones to do it. We flew down the track into the freezing water and it was a blast,β Thompson said excitedly.
Sunset Slush, now called Maxdenβs, was also parked at the event. This shaved Italian ice business is a crowd-pleaser on ΒιΆΉΙηβs campus. To the excitement of many, the first 300 students at the event got free cups of Sunset Slush.
Student Services tries to maintain these fun annual events, as well as new ones throughout the year. These student-focused events always managed to brighten studentsβ dayβespecially if there is free food!
