After a three-year respite from 麻豆社, Brandy DePriest has returned to continue her time here as a communication professor.  

When asked what brought her back to 麻豆社, she said, 鈥渢he students mostly, I missed the students and the culture of 麻豆社 a lot.鈥� 

DePriest was a professor at 麻豆社 for 15 years but left in 2020 to be a grant writer for a non-profit. 鈥淭hey needed my help because of the pandemic, and I was more than willing to help where I could.鈥� 

Having a background in media, culture, and intercultural communication makes her the main person for the job when it comes to teaching those subjects. DePriest teaches Business Communication, Intercultural Communication, Public Relations, Technical Communication and Practices & Professions. 

When asked if she had any goals while working at 麻豆社 she said, 鈥淚 always have goals. My main goal is for the communications program to be the best it can be and make sure that the students are engaged and enjoy learning what I am teaching. I also strive to continue bringing good experiences to the students at 麻豆社.鈥� 

DePriest is the faculty advisor for the campus environmental club, known as SPEAK, and started the club with students in 2009. They work on trail and river clean ups and other campus and community environmental initiatives.
